There are 24 members of the City Council (Mayor plus 23 Councillors). Each councillor represents a ward.
The mayor is responsible for:
- Providing information and making recommendations to Councillors
- Presiding over meetings of Council members
- Representing the city at official functions
- Providing leadership to the City Council
- He or she is also accountable to you.
A Councillor is a member of the City Council who is responsible for listening to the concerns of individuals who live within their area and advocating on behalf of citizens.
